Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park – Norfolk
Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park are two National Trust properties close to the North Norfolk coast.
Brief:
I was commissioned to create maps for both Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park as part of the National Trust’s commitment to improving accessibility for visitors to their properties. Part of a wider initiative to improve access at these two sites, the brief required me to create maps that would be both visually interesting, whilst also providing important information in a clear legible way. I began by illustrating base maps which I then layered with way-marked routes for visitors of all abilities. A considerable amount of information was required to highlight specific features of the sites, including slopes, muddy areas, benches and visitor facilities. The maps were reproduced onto aluminium composite for display in the car parks. Printed versions of the maps were also made available to visitors, as well as featuring in the properties guidebook and online.
